HealthCare Choices’ clinics in Brooklyn and Queens are both licensed as Article 28 diagnostic and treatment centers by the New York State Department of Health.
HealthCare Choices is designated by the Health Resources and Services Administration as a Federally Qualified Health Center under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act.
ICL’s Healthcare Choices is overseen and recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), which is a private 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA members must pass a rigorous, comprehensive review and annually report on their performance. For consumers and employers, this level of accreditation is one of the most reliable indications that the organization is well-managed and delivers high-quality care and service. The NCQA system is recognized on different tiers. HealthCare Choices is designated on tier 3, which is the highest level of recognition within the NCQA system.
HealthCare Choices is funded by the Health Resources and Service Administration for innovative training designed to improve care for people living with HIV.
HealthCare Choices was recognized by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in May 2012 for “contributing to community health by improving smoking cessation documentation and intervention rates.”
HRSA awarded FY 2012 Supplemental Funding for Quality Improvement in Health Centers (Cervical Cancer Screening).
